I like the spin "I love a good starbucks invasion". Then I thought about how all of this visual imagery and how it just reinforces a message that's good bu$ine$$ for startbuck$.

I only mention this because I almost die laughing when I see something like the "I'm addicted to it" McDonald$ spoof on the side of the construction walkway for the city college of San Francisco 22nd andBartlett campus.

Of course I'm the only one not rushing like a chicken with my head cut off so that I can enjoy these things.

Which leads me to believe that people don't pay attention to advertising which is why it gets into their subconscious just like these sarcastic messages.

I know that sarcastic messages basically put people on the defensive 'cause it hands them back the situation and forces them to think for themselves.

There's a lot of people who don't like that.

Keep up the good work !

fantastic. this sort of stuff not only draws attention to the amount of starbucks (hopefully making consumers choose elsewhere to buy coffee) but also makes me smile! nice one.

nik responds on November 22, 2005 9:27 AM

this is beautiful! just imagine the immense power of this kinda stuff if it was alllll over the place. If even a couple of people from every city did this kinda stuff, the mind set of many people just might change.... a lot.

Nice work.

I think that this is a great idea, but I also think that it would be useful in other mediums. Perhaps just putting up the same figure, or a different one, on or around already existing Starbucks coffee shops. Anyway, can I steal your idea and use in my home town. I think that it's fantastic.

Mr. Tiz responds on January 28, 2006 11:47 PM

Please send me a file with that picture! Id love to paste it up around my town!

excellent stuff, brilliant to see some people on the same wavelength as the rest of us!it has also sparked some ideas off in my head which I'm sure will soon be implemented. Now, where did I put that cardboard....Keep up the good stuff generics!!

PhilBF responds on February 24, 2006 10:08 AM

I think the execution is good as far a design and application but the statement makes the average starbux customer excited that their coming to their neighborhood not the other-way around which I think was your intent you should consider another message and also consider putting a call to action tag to go to a web site to learn more. Aside from that I'm glad that someone is doing something in Miami. Also Im thinking that Starbux is a poor target They treat their employees relatively well They at least offer Soy milk and fair trade coffees as a choice which it a lot more than a lot of other corporate cunts.

miamian responds on February 27, 2006 8:14 PM

Geez, people. Get a life. If all you have time for is 'artful' corporate attacks, you need a real job, or a hobby.

JamesS responds on February 28, 2006 3:55 PM

We are being invaded by Starbucks herre in Madrid, were watching at "Starfucks" stencils logo... not bad.
I like it, maybe youre more polite :P :P :P

Cheers!

Dutty responds on March 3, 2006 5:46 AM

How about someone complain about the people or companies who can't make a good cup of coffee... or give good customer service...the ones who waste resources by NOT having a good product. Or maybe point out the positives instead of the negatives. Maybe if more people spent more time spreading positivity there would be less hate or less bad products. Spread the word about where you can find a better cup of coffee instead. I can hear what you're concerned about but I think your focus is in th wrong place. So I'll agree with JamesS's comment.

Joel responds on March 3, 2006 9:54 AM

I agree with Joel....I've never understood the intense dislike for Starbucks. I understand the passion of the independent coffee culture, but Starbucks began with the same roots. The reason they are able to "invade" every street corner is because people enjoy their product. Their not flocking there because of the price, simply because they have better tasting coffee. The only way you're going to get someone to stop going to Starbucks is by presenting them a better product, not through a little poster campaign highlighting the fact that another Starbucks is opening up.

Ethan responds on March 3, 2006 10:45 AM

Excellent! They need to be stopped!

Here in Astoria Sambuck's Coffee store, owned by Samantha Buck, was recently forced to change its name to Sam Coffee, and Sam is now in debt up to her ears since she has to pay Starbucks' lawyer bills from being sued by them and losing. . . The Giant is restless and hungry. It's a corporation. Made up of people who desperately need to feel secure. Each of those people is only doing her part. Too bad the corporation becomes greedy.

Terry of Astoria responds on March 25, 2006 2:02 AM

Nice! The beautify here is in the slight discomfort of having to process something out of the norm, thrust upon you in an insightful and slight juxtaposition of the known with the unknown, it burns with the thrill of adrenaline... and coffee... mmmm.

Good on ya!

First off, I wonder if u know whats going on behind starbucks? Nothing wrong is going on. There intentions are good. The reason Starbucks is all over the place is for more unemployed people can have jobs. Also they dont fuck over the people who they buy there coffee from or there workers. So to me attack starbucks is sensless. Aim after a more heartless corporation please.

Marcos responds on May 22, 2006 4:13 PM

I happen to like a good 4 dollar cup of coffee every couple of months or so when i can afford it.

Maybe u should target the mindset of the consumers that are buying the stuff on a daily basis.

or counter brand them like create a site called starbuckssuxx.com. I don't know...I have extra time on my hands to write this so can i help?
